Olympic Tug-of-War

Never heard of it? Actually, tug-of-war actually had a decent run at the Olympics, debuting at the 1900 Summer Games in Paris (a mixed team of Swedes and Danes took gold that year) and reappearing in the 1904 Summer Games in St. Louis (the U.S. walked away with all three medals), the 1908 Summer Games in London (Great Britain claimed gold, silver and bronze), the 1912 Summer Games in Stockholm (host country Sweden yanked its way into first) and, finally, the 1920 games in Antwerp (once again, those brutish Britons took top honors) before being discontinued.
