August 8th, 1988
The Chicago Cubs are famous for playing a lot of day games, but before this day in 1988, day games were the only ones played at Wrigley Field. Night games had been around for more than 60 years when the Cubs met the Philadelphia Phillies in the first night game at the historic stadium. The Cubs had a lead but the game was called after four innings, meaning the outcome was not official. The first completed night game would happen the following day.
